1.Provision of market monitoring and statistical information
BCICC provides daily market monitoring and statistical information for the supervisory bodies of government departments. Currently, membership of the Market Monitoring Network has reached over 400, of which more than 300 are key monitoring enterprises, with over 3,000 network outlets. According to government needs, it provides market monitoring statistical and analysis reports on a yearly, monthly, ten-daily, daily and key times (festivals and holidays, time of emergency) basis, covering the five industries of retailing, food and beverages, living services, trading and marketing as well as production and processing, with 17 types of business operations altogether. Utilizing the information resources gathered over the years, BCICC produces timely, highly professional, and in-depth information products to serve the community. It has undertaken various commercial programs, market researches, project consultation and topic studies for the government and enterprises. With a team of technicians in the field of network design and software development, BCICC has successfully set up more than a dozen specialty websites for the government, associations, and enterprises, examples of which include: “Quick Response System of Beijing Market for Consumer Products,” “Beijing Market Monitor for Daily Necessities,” “Beijing Monitor of Disused Vehicles,” “Muslim Commodity Supply for the Beijing Market,” “Beijing Logistics Association,” and “Beijing Household Management Association,” all of which have played an important role in their respective fields. BCICC is furnished with a multi-media training classroom large enough to accommodate more than 30 trainees to log on the internet simultaneously. Through the use of its own website, the “Beijing Commercial Information Port”, BCICC offers almost a hundred messages of business information in a dozen of broad categories a day to government departments and website members, at the same time disseminating the “Ten-day Active Market Index on Consumer goods” to the public, reflecting up-to-date market activities. Through BCICC publications – “The Great Market”, “Business Activities”, “City Business Activities”, and “Commerce and Trade Economics”, it publishes government policies, laws and regulations on related commerce and service industries; reports on the latest business news and market activities; releases news on product audits by related government departments and exposes list of substandard products; analyses market situations and provides forecasts on market trends; reports on the latest business development of other cities in the country and in the world; and introduces business strategies of both domestic and overseas enterprises.

Provision of value-added services for small and medium-sized commerce and service enterprises in the city of Beijing
Sponsored by the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Commerce and maintained by BCICC, the “Beijing Business Service Network”, through the use of internet technologies, provides small and medium-sized commerce and service enterprises with technical support for information management and network technological services.? Enterprises may establish their own websites on the ASP platform, display their images, and release purchasing and selling information. They may also implement the various aspects of internal management on purchasing, selling, stocking and customer services; and conduct online transactions. The “Beijing Business Service Network” enables enterprises to acquire greater market opportunities, rapidly enhancing business effectiveness and efficiencies.

Provision of Services for Conventions and Exhibitions
Supported by the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Commerce, and with the commerce and service enterprises as its customer base, BCICC has taken on the organization of exhibitions and conventions of various kinds, notably “ Three Greens Engineering Exposition,” “Asia-Pacific Retailers’ Exposition – Beijing Showcase,” “Annual Meeting of Beijing Small and Medium-sized Business Services Enterprises,” “Beijing Golden Fall Fashion Shopping Festival,” “Beijing Restaurant Exposition – Forum on Olympic Food Engineering,” and “Beijing-Hong Kong Forum – Retail Branch”. Its work has earned the unanimous acclaims of government departments concerned and enterprises in general. |
| BCICC is a group member of the Beijing Municipality Information Association, and is a creditable unit in the consultation industry of the Beijing city. For many years in a row it has won first-class awards issued by the National Development and Reform Commission and the National Information Center, and for outstanding information work in the national consumer market information network.
